About Shane Rousseau

My name is Shane Rousseau, and I am a licensed paralegal in Ontario and the founder of Janus Legal.

Before entering the legal profession, I built a career in operations, risk management, complaint resolution, client advocacy, and business leadership. Throughout that work, I developed a deep appreciation for the importance of clear communication, careful preparation, and practical problem-solving skills that continue to shape my approach to legal services today.

Driven by a long-standing interest in law and advocacy, I returned to school to pursue paralegal studies, graduating with distinction before becoming licensed by the Law Society of Ontario.

I founded Janus Legal with a simple goal: to provide professional, accessible, and client-focused legal services to individuals, families, landlords, tenants, and small business owners navigating challenging situations.

Janus Legal will initially focus on Small Claims Court and Landlord and Tenant Board matters, areas where many people find themselves facing important legal issues without knowing where to turn or how to navigate the process.

The name Janus comes from the Roman god of beginnings, transitions, and doorways. It reflects a philosophy of looking both backward and forward; learning from experience while helping clients move confidently toward the future.

Whether someone is facing a dispute, seeking guidance, or simply trying to better understand their options, my commitment is to provide thoughtful service grounded in professionalism, preparation, and respect.
